Introduction: In hockey, the excitement of new players joining the league is just as thrilling as the games themselves. While experienced players continue to shine, a new group of rookies is ready to make a big impact. This season, we’re focusing on a talented class of rookie prospects who could shape the future of the sport.

The Rising Stars:

Ivan Demidov: Considered a top contender for the Calder Trophy, Demidov stands out on the ice with his impressive size and skills. His skating style may be a bit different, but it works well and has grabbed a lot of attention.

Zayne Parekh: After achieving back-to-back 100-point seasons in the OHL, Parekh is an exciting defenseman known for his scoring ability. He has a great chance to excel in Calgary, especially with the opportunities he’ll get during power plays.

Michael Misa: With an incredible 60 goals and 130 points in the OHL, Misa has a bright future ahead. Although his journey to the NHL is still unfolding, his talent is clear.

These are just some of the potential exciting rookies for this upcoming class. Will one of them take this years Calder Trophy as Rookie of the Year? Or will it be someone else such as the big Alexander Nikishin or the standout goalie Yaroslav Askarov? Who do you think will be 2026s rookie of the year?
